Social media has the unfortunate effect of potentially ruining good surprises. That, unfortunately, is the case with the new Resident Evil Netflix series, Infinite Darkness.

Yesterday, Netflix Portugal accidentally ran their version of the Resident Evil Infinite Darkness trailer early, before Netflix went into total damage control mode by removing videos from YouTube.

Also last night Twitter account Made In Heaven also leaked a lot of concept art for the upcoming Netflix special.

Today, we saw the official reveal of the trailer at the Tokyo Game Show and along with Netflix unblocking videos on YouTube.

The good news is, there are a few things that we’ve learned from the TGS presentation. We’ve also gotten an official poster.

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness will be a series

The main bit of new information is the full confirmation that Infinite Darkness is, in fact, a series. The possibility existed that it was instead going to be another CGI movie, like Degeneration, Damnation, and Vendetta. Thankfully, that’s not the case.

The other thing we learned is that Resident Evil Infinite Darkness is coming next year. When next year is another story, but we’ll keep an eye out for anything more from Capcom or Netflix.
