Project Resistance Looks Like It’ll Have Annette Birkin [Rumor]2 min read

With the Project Resistance beta officially over, it was only a matter of time until we started hearing some interesting things. The most recent bit of leaked info gives a little bit of a glimpse into a second Mastermind character: Resident Evil 2‘s own Annette Birkin.

While we know nothing about her signature monster (called the BioWeapon in-game), the source for this leak is a pretty strong one: the actual game itself. During the loading screens, there was a bug that would occasionally load Annette as the Mastermind, though when the game began, it would still be Daniel.

This also brings with it the hope that there will be a few other surprises among the cast of Masterminds. PR being canon is still up in the air. At the very least, it might give some characters more time in the spotlight than they previously had.

As far as the BioWeapon question goes, it’d be fun to see William as her specialty. However, I’m gonna admit that I doubt it. I don’t know how they’d jive the idea of her controlling him with the existing lore. More likely, she’ll have some other G-Spawn.

Overall, it’s exciting to know that this game won’t be almost completely removed from canon. Whether or not it ties into the confirmed single-player remains to be seen. At the very least, PR is officially welded onto the lore of Resident Evil.
