Yesterday, Capcom announced they were bringing back the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo. With it coming back it has brought with it the ability to play for longer than 30 minutes and a little more.

Before Resident Evil 2 was released, fans were treated to the 1-Shot Demo. The premise was simple enough. 30 minutes to explore the R.P.D. and once the timer expired, that was it. You were locked from the demo and would have to wait until the game’s release.

30 minutes doesn’t sound like a long time, but it was enough to get a taste of the mechanics, find a few Easter Eggs, and complete the demo.

Capcom bringing this demo back puzzled some fans. Reading online you’ll be quick to find comments like, “Why the Resident Evil 2 demo? Why not just a Resident Evil 3 demo?”

Well, it might still be a little early for a R3MAKE demo if one appears at all. The game is set to launch in April, so if we get a demo, I’d expect it after the first of the year.

However, in the meantime, the rebranded “R.P.D.” Demo might just be worth a download and playthrough.

    Spolier Ahead!

The main reason for this is a newly added Easter Egg, of tyrant-sized proportions. Online, people are starting to post clips of walking up to the R.P.D. to hear a familiar voice echoing loudly from inside. From none other than “The Pursuer” himself, Nemesis.

That’s right. Players will be treated to hearing Nemesis roaring “STARS” from inside the R.P.D. as they play through the demo. Which is absolutely chilling to hear. This also only helps to further the ties between the two titles.

We’ve posted the clip below, but we HIGHLY encourage you to download the demo and listen for yourself. You won’t regret it. Well, unless you’re a member of S.T.A.R.S., that is.
