It takes a lot for a game to sell 1 million units. Some games obviously don’t struggle with it; sports games and Call of Duty come to mind.
However, a lot of games don’t see that kind of movement EVER. So for a game to not only reach that milestone but reach it twice, is quite the feat.
Capcom has achieved with Resident Evil 3 such a feat. Not only that, but it also achieved it in five days flat.
Now, that being said, Resident Evil 3 has a long way to go catch up with its big brother 2, which has sold 6.5 million units to date. With a year’s head start, though, it isn’t unbelievable that the newer title can overtake the older.
