Following the success of various ports to the Switch of Resident Evil Zero, Remake, and 4, CAPCOM continues to push their critically-acclaimed horror franchise to the Nintendo Switch. The announcement of Resident Evil 5 & 6 comes as no shock to Resident Evil fans looking to bolster their collection.

5 and 6 serve as an interesting time in CAPCOM’s timeline, who decided that Action-based horror Nintendo has released two playable demos’ of the games on its coveted eShop, and players can expect to carry their demo progress over to the release when both games are available for their full download on the 29th October.

Can the Switch handle the power?

However, it has been noted of the performance plaguing Resident Evil Zero and REmake ports to the switch, and with RE 5 & 6 being substantially more graphic intensive than the existing ports, it will be interesting to see how CAPCOM adapts and optimizes the games to suit Nintendos hit system. However, it’s not past the realms of possibility. With Doom, Wolfenstein, and Witcher already out there, this may be a case of watching CAPCOM ‘do their magic’.

Past all this, however, it will be nice for Nintendo Switch owners to experience CO-OP horror on the go. It’s something that hasn’t been attempted before in the Resident Evil universe. So we here at Biohazard Declassified are excited to see this journey develop.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Switch anyone?
