A handy tweak in the dolphin emulator lets you experience RECV from a completely different perspective.

Ever since playing the Battle Mode from Resident Evil CODE: Veronica, I’ve always wanted to play the main campaign in the first person. Experiencing Claire and Chris’ story through their eyes makes me feel more immersed in the experience than ever before.

Thanks to Dolphin Emulator and the inclusion of support for Action Reply cheat codes, that is now possible, and I am here to talk you through how to do it. It is worth noting that this is NOT a perfect experience, and you will experience glitches and other oddities that may affect the game during your playthrough.

To get the first-person mode working, you will need the following:

  1. Up to date Dolphin Emulator: https://dolphin-emu.org/
  2. A digital copy of Resident Evil Code Veronica GameCube.
  3. The following AR Codes:
    • B+D-Pad Right For 1st Person
      • RQMZ-619W-90878
      • 0XRA-YEQ6-3JB9M
      • CZA2-YZ43-MGZHR
    • B+D-Pad Left For 3rd Person
      • GUHD-ZT7J-41FMR
      • 8JNT-VFBD-18XGA
      • 8C95-EMUH-ZE59D

When you have Dolphin installed, you will need to ‘enable cheats’ under settings, as below:

Next, ensure that you have set up your paths to your game library so your game shows in the white area under Game Folders, as below:

Following that, right-click and go to properties, AR Codes and input the codes as listed above.

And then you are all set! As I said previously, it is not a perfect experience and you will find oddities throughout your playthrough, but the reward is being able to experience a familiar game from an unfamiliar perspective!
