Resident Evil Village now has an 18+ rating in Brazil (shocker…). This information comes from Gematsu on Twitter.

On December 14th, Brazil’s Ministério da Justiça gave Resident Evil Village this rating on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, so far no mention of current gen consoles, which Capcom hinted as a possibility during the 2020 Tokyo Game Show.

The PDF on the rating site gives further reason for the rating, and they’re the usual suspects for Resident Evil or most horror games for that matter. “Extreme violence“, “Intentional Death“, “Presence of Blood“, “Bodily Injury” and “Fear” just to name a few of the content descriptors.

You can see a full list of the rating descriptors here.

As the end of the year draws near, I would also expect full ESRB and PEGI ratings to follow soon. Information from the recent Capcom hack suggested a released date sometime in April 2021.

So if nothing has changed, we should learn more (hopefully information on a demo and a release date) at the promised Winter update for Resident Evil Village from Capcom.
